| Chippewa Valley Technical College Fire Medic Associate Degree Program prepares students for an occupation in the fire service and paramedic arenas. Courses focus on thoroughly preparing a firefighter/paramedic for entry onto a full-time fire department or other emergency response organization in the public or private sector. After completing this program, the students are prepared to challenge the National Registry for EMT-Paramedic exam. The students will be prepared as a firefighter and fire apparatus driver operator. Fire Medic students are prepared to respond to the diverse incidents of today's emergency service. The program will include special courses in water, confined space, trench, high angle, and vehicle extrication rescue. Chippewa Valley Technical College Fire Service Training also provides progressive fire and safety education for 53 area fire departments, and local business and industry. CVTC has a shared classroom facility with the Eau Claire Fire Department. The adjacent 20 acres training grounds holds a live burn building, ladder tower and many other props to develop hands-on skills. | |

The site has a 3 room burn building; a classroom/storage building; a storage trailer; a natural gas prop; and the state funded ladder prop. | The constant changes and growing complexities of modern living and the environment are creating a demand for college-trained people in the fire service field. Madison Area Technical College offers a 2-year Associate Degree in Fire Protection Technician and a less than one year diploma in the Fire Recruit Academy, which may State certify the student as Firefighter II and National EMT. MATC also offers other numerous State Certification courses, Wildland Fire Training, fire safety courses and courses to fit individual/department training needs as requested. | Milwaukee Area Technical College Fire Service Training site is located at the MATC South Campus in Oak Creek. The training site consists of a Burn Building and Tower, a Splashboard, LP Gas Firefighting Props, and a Driver Operator EVOC track. The Fire Service Training program has two dedicated classrooms along with an Apparatus Bay that houses a Fire Engine and an Ambulance. The Fire Training Program also has a supply of SCBA and air cylinders along with an air compressor for refilling the cylinders. | |

Moraine Park Technical College provides on-site state mandated and specialized training to district fire departments, industries, and residential treatment facilities. HAZMAT courses through Technician level and other standard courses for Fire Fighters are provided upon request; they include fire Apparatus driving, pumping and aerial operations, LP Gas fire training, Company Officer and Leadership courses, Automobile extrication, Wildland Fire Fighting and specialized rural orientated courses. |

| Waukesha County Technical College has been designated as a "Regional Fire Training Center" and has a state-of-the-art training facility. Outdoor training facilities include a fire training tower, live fire training simulator (burn building), and training props to simulate real-world situations for fireground ladders, ventilation exercises, flammable liquid and natural gas firefighting, fire extinguishers, confined space and technical rescue. WCTC is also equipped with typical emergency response apparatus including 2 pumpers, an aerial ladder and all necessary equipment to train firefighters using the equipment that they will use during emergency response activities. | |

| Western Technical College offers a wide variety of courses for the Fire Service to include Entry Level Firefighter through Fire Officer Certified, with numerous specialized courses in areas such as Haz-Mat, Wildland Firefighting, Public Safety SCUBA Diver & Technical Rescue. The College is also in a Cooperative Program to offer an Associate Degree in Fire Protection Technician. Hands-on Fire Training is conducted at our Sparta Campus, and also off campus with two local live fire burn towers/Class "B" Burn Pits. We are presently working with the US Army on a joint agreement which would provide us with an additional Tower/Pit for increased training options, such as airport firefighter. | |

| The Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College district is broken up into two areas. Six counties are managed out of the New Richmond Campus and five counties are managed out of the Ashland Campus. At the Ashland Campus, all of the courses that are approved and funded by the Wisconsin Technical College System Office are offered. Also offered are many specialty courses such as High Angle Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Water Rescue, etc. Ashland Campus has fourteen fire instructors. In the five counties WITC Ashland Campus manages, there are two full-time fire departments, fifty-four volunteer fire departments, and three Native American Reservation volunteer fire departments. This is a total of fifty-nine fire departments. WITC Ashland services approximately 1,500 Fire Fighters. | |
