American Educational Research Association AERA is the most prominent international professional organization with the primary goal of advancing educational research and its practical application. Disciplines represented by the membership include education, psychology, statistics, sociology, history, economics, philosophy, anthropology, and political science.
Center on Education and Work, UW Madison The Center undertakes research, development, and capacity-building technical assistance activities to strengthen the connections among educational institutions, workplaces, communities, and families. Ultimately, the Center’s efforts are designed to enhance the quality of career-related learning in schools, colleges, and the workplace for all individuals.
Community College Research Center at Columbia University Teacher's College. The Center's mission is to conduct research on the major issues affecting community colleges with regard to expanding access to higher education and promoteingsuccess for all.
Community College Survey of Student Engagement, some findings The CCSSE student engagement survey specifically designed for community and technical colleges is able to produce new information about community college quality and performance that provides value to institutions in their efforts to improve student learning and retention. It also provides policymakers and the public with more appropriate ways to view the quality of undergraduate education.
Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education, (CAS) CAS promotes standards in student affairs, student services, and student development programs since its inception in 1979. For the ultimate purpose of fostering and enhancing students' learning and achievement academically, psychologically, physically, socially, and in general, to promote good citizenship, CAS continues to create and deliver a dynamic and credible "Blue Book" of Standards and Guidelines and Self-Assessment Guides that lead to a host of quality-controlled programs and services.

Institute for Higher Education Policy The mission of the Institute for Higher Education Policy is to foster access and success in postsecondary education through public policy research and other activities that inform and influence the policymaking process.
Integrated Post-secondary Education Data System (IPEDS) IPEDS has been established as the core postsecondary education data collection program for the National Center for Education Statistics, is a system of surveys designed to collect data from all primary providers of postsecondary education. IPEDS is a single, comprehensive system designed to encompass all institutions and educational organizations whose primary purpose is to provide postsecondary education. The IPEDS system is built around a series of interrelated surveys to collect institution-level data in such areas as enrollments, program completions, faculty, staff, and finances.
League for Innovation in the Community College A non-profit educational consortium which serves as a catalyst, project incubator, and experimental laboratory for community colleges throughout the US and Canada.Midwest Higher Education Compact (MHEC)
The Midwest PERL (Postsecondary educational resouce library)is designed to meet the data and policy-research needs of MHEC's constituents through two complementary databases: 1) state-specific data for MHEC member states and 2) links to quality policy reports and scholarly articles searchable by issue, sector, and institutional type.

National Center for Post Secondary Improvement NCPI's research, dissemination, and outreach efforts are creating a national forum for examining and improving teaching, learning, and reorganization efforts across a wide range of postsecondary settings--from community colleges to research universities. Our research is organized into six interconnected windows of study, with each project area pursuing a substantive set of issues. The researchers leading these projects bring an impressive range of disciplinary lenses--including economics, organizational studies, political science, history, sociology, and psychology--that provide a strong foundation for inquiry and dialogue.
National Center for Public Policy And Higher Education Promotes public policies that enhance American's' opportunities to pursue and achieve high-quality education and training beyond high school. Private foundations support the research. The Center is not affiliated with any instituion of higher education, with any political party, or with and government agency.
National Council for Research on Women The National Council for Research on Women, founded in 1981, is a working alliance of 95 women's research and policy centers, more than 3,000 affiliates and a network of over 200 international centers. NCRW's mission is to enhance the connections among research, policy analysis, advocacy, and innovative programming on behalf of women and girls.

Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE) ASHE is a scholarly society with about 1,400 members dedicated to higher education as a field of study. The Association promotes collaboration among its members and others engaged in the study of higher education through research, conferences, and publications, including its highly regarded journal, The Review of Higher Education.
ASHE Publications The ASHE Reader Series is a collection of readers on topics of current interest in higher education. Each reader represents a compendium of exemplary published works chosen by scholars who teach and conduct research in these areas.
