Appropriate Occupational Experience and Academic Preparation Documents provide the foundation on which WTCS teacher certification is granted. These documents are reviewed at least every three years to ensure currency and applicability. To facilitate statewide input in this process, district staff comment is encouraged.
Documents to be discussed at the next WTCS State Certification Committee (SCC) Meeting can be viewed HERE.
After you click on a specific program listed for document review, you will see a link in the upper left corner of the screen that allows you to open and read the document with any recommended edits. Documents contain black text, blue text, red text, and/or stikeout. Black text indicates the document is currently approved. Blue text indicates recommended changes. Red text indicates changes which were recommended or added after the document was posted for document review. Blue or red strikeout text indicates a recommendation to delete that language from the document.
Directions for Submitting Comments:
You will be asked to provide your
name, the district that you are associated with, and your recommendations in the comment box. Please provide specific suggestions for revising the document or indicate that no revision is necessary. Feedback indicating that the document is still accurate and current is just as important as making a recommendation for change.
The comment box expands to provide ample room for any suggestions you make. After you enter your comments, they will be attached to the existing webpage when you click on "Submit". You may need to select "Refresh" or "Reload" to view your comments. This will depend upon whether your viewer is set to refresh or reload each time it goes to a page. Previously submitted recommendations appear in blue text under the comment box.
Please avoid using terms such as "Understand" or "Knowledge of" in Section II of the Appropriate Occupational Experience/Academic Preparation Document to describe job duties. Instead, provide a specific job duty that represents a measurable performance standard in Section II, such as analyze, identify, install, select, cut, or weld.
