Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator-Pumper
Parts 1 and 2

These 33-hour (66 hours total) courses prepare the participant to be able to perform fire appartus maintenance, driving, positioning, operating/pumping and testing functions at a minimum nationally recognized level.

The targeted audience is individuals who have completed the training required to meet the Fire Fighter I JPRs of NFPA 1001, Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications, Chapter 3, and desire or are required to increase their knowledge and skills base to progress to the fire apparatus driver/operator-pumper level.

These courses, when taken in sequential order, are designed to provide the Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator-Pumper candidate with the information needed to meet the job performance requirements (JPRs) in National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1002, Standard for Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications, Chapter 2 and 3. They are based on the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA) Pumping Apparatus Driver/Operator Handbook, 1st Edition curriculum.
