Programs/CoursesThis 36-hour course prepares the participant to be able to perform fire fighting functions at a minimum nationally recognized level under direct supervision.
The targeted audience is individuals who have completed the minimum fire fighting training requirements as specified in Comm 30.08, Employment standards (1) [3-3.2] of Wisconsin Administrative Code, Department of Commerce, Chapter 30, Fire Department Safety and Health, and desire or are required to increase their knowledge and skills base to next level.
This course when taken in subsequent to completion of the Entry Level Fire Fighter Part 1 (30 hours) and Part 2 ( 30 hours) courses, is designed to provide the Fire Fighter I candidate with the additional information needed to meet the job performance requirements (JPRs) in National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001, Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications, Chapter 3. It is based on the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA) Essentials of Fire Fighting, 4th Edition curriculum.
