Solution IV: Provide Funding Avenues for Manufacturing Training

Goal 1: Provide a self-perpetuating fund system that allows manufacturers to bond against the generation of future tax dollars
Goal 2: Pursue all avenues to fund manufacturing training through foundations, professional organizations, government agencies and the private sector

Progress to Date:

An initial meeting was held on October 19, 2004 with representatives of the Wisconsin Department of Commerce, Department of Workforce Development and the WTCS to discuss funding sources supporting manufacturing workforce training. The purpose of the meeting was mainly fact-finding. The three principle workforce training agencies agreed that closer coordination is necessary to better serve the manufacturing customer. Future discussions will continue to further develop mechanisms to cooperate on training funding.
